Mono-Film Trends

Dan Blackburn, Global Packaging Graphics Leader at Kimberly-Clark

Presentation Details
Mono-films are regularly talked about as the future of flexible packaging. That is because of the current inability to recycle multi-layer films and laminated flexible packaging substrates, other than by energy recovery. Brands want to move toward mono-layer films and have public goals to support this.
Dan will explain what that means to flexographic printers and suppliers in terms of press, inks and barrier solutions.
Speaker Bio
About Dan: Dan is a 2011 graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. in packaging science. He has been a member of FTA since 2012 and currently presides on its Board of Directors and its Foundation’s Board of Trustees. He is also a FIRST-certified Implementation Specialist.
Dan worked on the converting side of the business as a product development engineer and technical manager for Berry Global and Fortis Solutions Group (formerly Label Technology). Currently, he is the global packaging graphics leader as a senior engineer in the R&D Central Organization for Kimberly Clark Professional, residing in Atlanta.

Shrink Film: How to Differentiate Your Business Today

Ted Bright, Digital Sales Manager at Mark Andy

Presentation Details
With many ways for converters to differentiate themselves in the flexographic market and even more in the upcoming near and mid-term, perhaps the best bang for your proverbial converting buck is shrink film.
Ted will show how—with a relatively “seamless” path to expansion and known costs to entry, combined with healthy demand and opportunity—converters today can tap this market for a potentially compelling return on investment.
Speaker Bio
About Ted: Ted lives in St. Louis, MO with his wife and three kids, just a few minutes away from Mark Andy’s global headquarters.
