About This Session

About Amy: Amy is a technical service and product development manager at ePac, where she leads with a wealth of experience. Her background includes a senior product development engineer with Printpack and a chemical ink and coating formulary chemist. She has been involved in the printing and packaging industry for over a decade and has been focused on developing sustainable product offerings.

About Ashish: Dr. Ashish Datt started his career as a chemist in the R&D team at Siegwerk, focusing on formulation development for solvent-based inks and coatings. Dr. Datt has held various positions within Siegwerk with the focal point on designing innovative solutions for both internal and external stakeholders. Dr. Datt has transitioned into a new role as senior manager – innovation and sustainability.
In his current role, his main areas of interest will be designing sustainable innovative solutions that can enable circularity within the packaging industry. Dr. Datt also represents Siegwerk at various organizations focused on providing sustainable solutions and utilizing the core principles of circular economy, including APR and SPC. Dr. Datt earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from The University of Iowa.

About John: A mechanical engineer from the University of Wales Swansea, John joined the English FTA in 1998 and fell in love with flexography! John and his family moved back to the US in 2000, and has worked in education and for the FTA before in 2007 joined the new flexographic plate business in Kodak which is now Miraclon, and has worked in marketing, business development, sales and R&D in the last 17 years.

About Allie: Allie is a technical applications consultant with DuPont Cyrel Solutions, and a graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. in graphic communications and M.S. in packaging science. During her five years of industry experience, she has also worked closely with high schools, colleges and universities. Allie takes part in class lectures and programs, such as the Phoenix Challenge, to help gain excitement and interest for the flexographic industry in young students.

About Brian: Brian is applications development and lab manager for MacDermid Graphics Solutions. Brian has 27 years of experience in the packaging industry, most recently celebrating his 20-year anniversary at MacDermid. Focusing on prepress applications for flexographic photopolymer plates, Brian has spent his time assisting customers with new technology implementation, product development and root cause analysis.
Brian’s prior experience includes managing prepress work for a tag and label printer. Brian also has experience working with brands and printers to achieve color consistency and uniformity across a range of products and processes.
