Pushing the Limits in Corrugated

Jack Fulton, VP at Printron

Presentation Details
The corrugated packaging market continues to be dominated by the flexographic printing process. New press technology is allowing for projects to be printed easier, faster and with greater accuracy than ever before.
Jack will show examples and explain how this technology is helping printers benefit from their already outstanding processes to produce award-winning packaging.
Speaker Bio
About Jack: Jack has been involved in the corrugated printing industry for 47 years. He is currently in a consulting role for Printron, a leading supplier of prepress services, printing plates and cutting dies for the flexographic industry. Jack has been active in several trade organizations and is a past member of the FTA Board of Directors and FFTA Board of Trustees.
One of the highlights of his career was organizing and operating a seminar for companies who wanted to learn how to successfully print high-graphic corrugated work. Giving back to the corrugated industry became a passion for Jack over the years. Jack and his wife Mary have been married for over 52 years. They enjoy spending time with their two children and their families, including five grandchildren!

Rory Marsoun, Director of Sales – Flexo at Esko

Presentation Details
In this presentation, Ken will share best practices related to the creation and use of color profiles in a prepress environment. This includes both .icc and proprietary .mxn profiles, as well as the application of profiles to influence color in contract proofing, CMYK and EG color separations and “soft” monitor viewing.
Speaker Bio
About Rory: When Ken was little, he liked taking things apart to figure out how they worked. As a teen, he chose chemistry as his field of study because it was engaging. And 35 years later, he’s created a rewarding and fun career helping people, still intrigued by how things work and how he and his team can make them better for Flexografix’s customers—While always accepting opportunities to provide the high level of engagement he thrives on.
In his free time, Ken can be found with his wife, Harmony, and daughter, Hannah. A regular meditation practice, being in nature and long-distance motorcycle tours are additional interests of Ken’s.
James Dye Erica Kirinovic

The Future of Sustainability in Flexography

James Dye, Press Manager at Emerald Packaging

Presentation Details
James will review Emerald Packaging’s efforts in sustainability, including PCR film, replacing rigid structures with MDOPE and compostable adhesives. What things worked, and what things didn’t? The world around us is becoming more sustainably focused, why aren’t we? The technology is there, but not enough are taking the plunge.
Speaker Bio
About James: James started off in the cup and lid industry and fell in love with printing right away. From there, he aspired to learn every aspect of all printing platforms and that has granted him experience with many different types of presses—old and new—as well as plates, inks and substrates. James has participated in a few company startups as well and that gave him the opportunity to teach as well as learn new things and continue growing in the industry.
